Dilly bars in hand, Moorhead residents and community leaders ushered in a new era for Moorhead at a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Community Center Library project, one of the first projects in a larger downtown redevelopment.<\/p>\n
The $41.5 million project will bring a new combined community center and public library to downtown Moorhead in 2026. The two-story building will include meeting and community rooms, a center for entrepreneurship, an indoor playground, a walking track, a library, and administrative spaces for library staff. It will replace the current library, which was built in 1961.<\/p>\n
